Chelsea look set to miss out on one manager who could have been a potential replacement for Mauricio Pochettino.
With Chelsea doing so badly in the Premier League, Mauricio Pochettino‘s job does not look entirely safe.
The Blues are barely in the top half of the table, spending most of the season in the bottom half of it.
Pochettino is only on a short-term deal at Stamford Bridge and several managers have been linked with his job.
The above includes Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim, though it has been claimed that the Portuguese has an agreement with Liverpool to take over from Jurgen Klopp in the summer when the German departs Anfield.
Chelsea really like Italian manager
Chelsea have had some really successful Italian managers down the years.
Antonio Conte and Carlo Ancelotti both won the Premier League title during their time at Stamford Bridge, while Roberto Di Matteo delivered the Blues’ their first-ever Champions League trophy.

Then there was also the late Gianluca Vialli, who won the FA Cup and UEFA Super Cup to name a couple of honours he managed to get his hands on when he was in charge of the club.
According to HITC, 41-year-old Thiago Motta is another Italian manager who Chelsea admire.
However, the outlet claims that the Brazilian-born Italian coach is close to reaching an agreement with Juventus to replace Massimiliano Allegri.
Who is more likely to succeed Mauricio Pochettino, Thiago Motta or Ruben Amorim?
Honestly, right now, it does not look like either manager will be replacing Pochettino in the Stamford Bridge dugout.
First of all, Pochettino has not even been sacked yet, and second, Motta and Amorim both seem to be eyeing different clubs.
Out of the two, though, you would probably have to say Amorim.
The 39-year-old seems to have been on Chelsea’s radar a bit longer. According to journalist Ben Jacobs, they considered appointing him before they hired Graham Potter back in 2022.
