And with bigger names comes bigger expectations – not that this has put Ronaldo off.
If anything, it has only spurred the five-time Ballon d’Or winner on further – and he is already putting his body through its paces.
The Portugal international took to social media to post his progress that has included gruesome sprint training through the Saudi desert.
“No pain no gain,” the first story is captioned on Instagram.
His next story showed a video of himself topless and there is no doubting the veteran striker’s physique despite approaching the age of 40.
