Reports have claimed that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly could do something which may cause a real backlash from supporters.

According to the Mail Online, the players could revolt if the ownership make one decision revolving around the under-pressure manager.

Mauricio Pochettino’s place at the club for next season in particular is under real threat right now, with it looking like another seriously underwhelming season on the cards at Stamford Bridge.

Pochettino tipped to be sacked this summer

The recent 5-0 defeat against Arsenal was the final straw for some, with the manner of the defeat not sitting right with those who were already not onboard with the club under the Argentine.

It has been exclusively predicted to The Chelsea Chronicle that the club will part ways with the manager at the end of the season, and look elsewhere in an attempt to bring the first trophy to the club under the new regime.

However, it has been reported that Boehly and the rest of the board making that decision risks serious backlash from the current first team squad at Chelsea.

While performances have not been up to scratch throughout the majority of the campaign, it has been reported that the players are universally supporters of Pochettino and have enjoyed working under him up to now.

If a change is made at the helm, there are a number of names that have frequently been mentioned as potential replacements for him.

One of those is Ruben Amorim, who looks set to move on from Sporting Lisbon this summer off the back of delivering another Portuguese league title.

Another name who has come up in recent days is Thiago Motta, with it being claimed the Blues are admirers of what he has achieved over in Italy this season.

However, it is acknowledged that he looks likely to move across to Juventus at the end of this campaign.
