As a whole, Chelsea have obviously not performed this season.

Mauricio Pochettino‘s men are currently ninth in the Premier League table and will finish the campaign trophyless.

Individually, there is also room for improvement, which is more than understandable given that this is quite a young Chelsea squad.

That inexperience can also be blamed for why the team have struggled so much this term.

It is something for the club to think about ahead of the next transfer window.

Chelsea star wants to improve

Chelsea drew 2-2 with Aston Villa last time out, with Noni Madueke and Conor Gallagher grabbing the Blues’ two goals.

The latter has had a really good season but has admitted that he can still in improve in every area of his game.

Speaking to TNT Sports about his goal after the game, the midfielder said: “Absolute swinger! I was happy with the goal and disappointed to not get the third.

“We had chances to win and we showed great character. The goal at the end should have counted, but it is not my decision. We can hold our heads high and take a lot of confidence from that.

“We are still on a journey to keep improving and nowhere near where we want to be as a club. I try my best and I have so much to improve on as well in every aspect of my game.”

Where Conor Gallagher does not need to improve

Gallagher may want to refine all areas of his game, but it is quite clear he does not need to worry about things like work rate.

The Englishman is arguably the hardest worker in this Chelsea team and really helps his side out defensively.

According to WhoScored, Gallagher is making 2.3 tackles per game in the Premier League this season, the third-highest average in Pochettino’s squad.

The Blues should not sell him in the summer but may have to because of his contract situation. If they do, the England international really should end up on their list of most expensive departures.

With his existing deal running down, though, Chelsea may not have too much power in negotiations over a potential sale.
