It is clear to see that pressure is firmly on Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino right now.

The latest result, a 2-2 draw against relegation-threatened Sheffield United was a real dagger into their hopes of qualifying for Europe at the end of the season.

It is thought by many that this is key for Pochettino keeping his place at the club for next season, and not letting the club miss out on European football for the second successive season.

Pochettino under pressure

For every positive moment that has come this season, it has quickly been followed by a negative, and the draw at Bramall Lane following the thrilling win against Manchester United was another example of that.

There are surely some top chiefs at Stamford Bridge looking around the managerial market for a potential replacement at the club, and realistically they will not have to look far to find the perfect candidate.

Roberto De Zerbi’s future at Brighton is so far looking unclear, with him being linked to a number of top jobs at the end of this season.

He has done a superb job following up the good work of Graham Potter at the Amex before he transitioned to Chelsea. He has been described as ‘excellent’ by Luton manager Rob Edwards.

The Italian has plenty of experience working with some of the top players at Stamford Bridge, who the club have already pinned a lot of their future hopes on.

De Zerbi the perfect option for Chelsea

He got the best out of Moises Caicedo at Brighton, who certainly feels as if he can give more since his club-record transfer last summer.

Levi Colwill was also on loan for his Brighton side, where he performed at a level that saw most clubs in England want to sign him.

He is also an admirer of Mykhailo Mudryk, even saying in the past he believes that he has the potential to do seriously big things in the game.

Having a manager who can get the best out of this trio as well as the other young stars at the club is a huge plus for anyone coming into the club, and right now De Zerbi looks the best candidate by far.
