Chelsea could end up selling the likes of Raheem Sterling and Conor Gallagher in the summer.

Raheem Sterling has struggled at Chelsea since joining from Manchester City in 2022 and has now been linked with a move to MLS.

This season, the winger has scored just six goals in the Premier League.

As for Conor Gallagher, his contract expires in 2025, meaning that the Blues could be forced to sell the midfielder now to avoid the risk of losing him for nothing later down the line.

Despite his deal running down, Chelsea believe one thing could still help them get £50m for him.

Why some at Chelsea think they can still get £50m for Conor Gallagher

Gallagher is a full England international and is with Gareth Southgate’s squad right now.

With the 24-year-old being part of the Three Lions set-up, some figures at Chelsea believe that will help them in their quest to get a £50m fee for him.

That is what journalist Dean Jones has claimed on X.

If you are Mauricio Pochettino, though, you would probably not want the club to sell Gallagher for any amount of money.

The Argentine is clearly a huge fan of the player, using him 38 times this season.

Who is more likely to stay at Chelsea, Conor Gallagher or Raheem Sterling?

While Sterling has not been in the best of form this season, that has not stopped Pochettino from turning to him.

Like Gallagher, the winger has also been an important player for his manager, making two fewer appearances than his team-mate.

Ultimately, Pochettino is unlikely to want either to depart. But that is the club’s decision, and right now it looks like Gallagher will be the first one out of the door because of his contract situation and the fact that they can make pure profit from his sale.

Sterling, on the other hand, has a contract until 2027 and is on huge wages. It is going to be hard to find a buyer for him.
