Trent Alexander-Arnold returned to pre-season training with Liverpool sporting a fresh new look.

The Reds star endured a topsy-turvy season after coming under fire for his defensive performances.

After shrugging off the naysayers, Alexander-Arnold ended the season on a high with a host of inspired performances for club and country in more advance midfield role.

Now, the 24-year-old appears ready to show the best version of himself ahead of the new season…starting with a fresh trim.

The dreadlocks have been ditched in favour of simple and easy to maintain cut, as seen in a video clip released by the club.

Luis Diaz and new teammate Alexis Mac Allister were amongst the first to see the new look and the Colombian winger could not hide his laughter at seeing the right-back with much less hair.

The England star can then be heard saying: “The hair speaks for itself, fresh start, new season, new me, we’re back and we’re better.”

With a new style in place, all that remains is for Alexander-Arnold to fine tune his fitness ahead of the new campaign.

Liverpool will be hoping to put last season’s underwhelming season behind them and mount a top-four challenge.

The Reds’ fifth-placed finish means they will swap Champions League football for the Europa League next term.

Much will be made of how boss Jurgen Klopp plans to utilise his midfield next season after a host of departures and incomings.

Dominic Szoboszlai joins Mac Allister as Klopp’s new midfield additions and with captain Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara both linked with moves to Saudi Arabia, the German coach could opt to use Alexander-Arnold in a more central role.
