Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell had some interesting words after his side’s recent loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Chelsea were beaten 4-2 at home by Wolves and after the game, Ben Chilwell told Sky Sports that Mauricio Pochettino‘s men lost because Gary O’Neil’s team “wanted it more”.

It is a statement that has left Gabby Agbonlahor stunned on talkSPORT.

It is probably not the sort of thing Chelsea supporters want to be hearing from their vice-captain.

That loss has now left his side 11th in the Premier League table and far from the European football places.

Agbonlahor cannot believe what he has heard from Chilwell.

In response to his post-match interview, the former Aston Villa striker said: “Ben Chilwell coming out after the game and saying they wanted it more than us. How is that possible? How is that possible? You’ve got so much ground to cover to try and get back into the top four.”

Europa League qualification is not exactly out of sight for Chelsea, so to go into a game and lose it because the other team wanted the three points more is disgraceful.

After Chilwell’s comments, at this point, you have to ask if the players even care anymore?

Following a couple of really bad performances, Pochettino’s job at Chelsea now looks to be in real danger. The club are reportedly thinking about getting rid of him, but any other industry and the people the Argentine has been working alongside, the players, would all be on the verge of getting fired as well.

Simply put, they have not covered themselves in glory this season either and, like the man leading them, should be doing much better. You suspect, though, that Pochettino will be the one who pays the price for the team’s poor campaign.
