Wolverhampton Wanderers star Rayan Ait-Nouri has emerged as a potential Chelsea transfer target for this summer.

That is according to well-respected journalist Simon Phillips.

Rayan Ait-Nouri, who’s just 22, has been a consistent performer this season in a Wolves side pushing to finish in the European positions.

The energetic full-back, who plays as the left wing-back or left-back for Gary O’Neill’s side, is one of the Premier League’s best young defenders right now.

So, could we end up seeing him move to Stamford Bridge?

Simon Phillips reports that Chelsea have another name on their shortlist as they eye a new left-back for next season.

Apparently, the Blues are interested in signing 22-year-old star Ait-Nouri from Wolves.

Phillips wrote on his Substack today: “I understand Chelsea now hold an interest in signing Wolves left back Rayan Ait-Nouri this summer. The interest is not actually brand new, as I reported months back that Chelsea liked him. But he has now been bought back onto our shortlist of potential new left backs this summer.”

90min claimed last November that Ait Nouri’s impressive performances led to him appearing on Chelsea’s radar for 2024.

Chelsea want Rayan Ait-Nouri

Now he’s played 106 first-team games for Wolves, Ait-Nouri definitely has a good understanding of English football.

From what we’ve seen of him in the Premier League, the wing-back may have a big future ahead of him at the top.

Chelsea are linked with countless individuals that fans can’t get too excited, but we think Ait Nouri’s the sort of capture that could be great for our squad.

The Algeria international is a great dribbler, fast, and energetic in wide positions. A lot of the Wolves success goes through him on the left, too.

Described as “fantastic” by Ruben Neves back in 2020 via Wolves’ official website, Ait-Nouri’s only going from strength to strength and looks tailor-made for one of the biggest clubs in Englannd.
