One forward in Europe seems to have really caught the attention of Chelsea ahead of the summer transfer window.
Chelsea are “impressed” with Benjamin Sesko‘s data and the RB Leipzig star is now one to watch, journalist Simon Phillips has claimed on his Substack.
According to Phillips, Sesko also has a release clause of around £45m, making him significantly cheaper than someone like Victor Osimhen, for example.
Osimhen, who is also being linked with a move to Chelsea, has his clause set at £113m, reports the Evening Standard.
Due to profit and sustainability rules in the Premier League, it is a deal that the Blues may now not be able to do.
Chelsea impressed with Benjamin Sesko’s data
Sesko has scored seven goals in 22 league appearances this season, while he netted 16 in 30 the campaign before at Red Bull Salzburg.
Those are decent numbers, especially for someone who is still only 20.

Chelsea also seem to like some of Sesko’s other figures, though it is not quite clear what bits of data have impressed them.
Whatever the case, the Slovenian’s goal record, price tag and height show that he could be a good acquisition for Chelsea this summer.
Sesko is a tall striker, standing at 6 ft 5, so could be perfect for the Premier League. It would be ideal if Chelsea could sign someone with more experience than the Leipzig man and a bit more proven.
However, it looks like finances could prevent the Blues from spending big money on a centre-forward in the next transfer window. If that does turn out to be the case, then they should look no further than Sesko. The Slovenia international can be a cheaper alternative to Osimhen who hopefully brings more goals to Mauricio Pochettino‘s side if he is snapped up by Chelsea ahead of the 2024/25 season.
