Manchester City fans have been trapped in traffic hell as they try to make their way to the Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul.

And the club’s fans have arrived in their droves in the Turkish city, which is hosting the final, along with Inter’s supporters.

But they have been stuck in standstill traffic before the match has even got close to getting started.

Even with hours before kick-off, the Turkish city has been brought to a shuddering standstill.

The main roads have seen cars immobile for a long time and some fans have decided to ditch their cars and make their way to the stadium on foot – miles from the Ataturk Olympic Stadium.

And the traffic is not the only problem with public transport also taking a massive hit.

talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook has been stuck on a metro train, one that was supposedly meant to be a quieter line.

Posting a picture of a packed train going nowhere, he tweeted: “Roads gridlocked and metro rammed (this is one of the quieter ones).

“Also told all hire cars have been stopped from crossing the border into Turkey.

Those attending have been warned to not use taxis and to utilise the public transport, including the metro and buses.

But it appears that even these services have been crippled by the weight of fan arrivals this weekend.

City face Inter Milan for the Champions League title on Saturday evening having already won the Premier League and FA Cup.

It means that they could match Manchester United’s treble-winning season that they managed in 1999 under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Arsenal led for much of the season in the Premier League but a late crumble saw City take advantage and steal ahead, landing the title by five points in the end.

Guardiola’s side also beat United in the FA Cup final through two Ilkay Gundogan volleys ahead of what could be his last year at the Etihad Stadium.

Many believe City are the favourites to defeat Inter Milan, also, having thrashed Real Madrid and Bayern Munich on their road to Istanbul.

It is just a shame the actual roads in Istanbul appear to be completely clogged up.
