Last night saw one player who recently left Chelsea break a record in European football.
In the Europa League last night, former striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang became the top scorer in competition history as he found the net for Marseille.
Things certainly didn’t work out for Aubameyang at Chelsea, with him only finding the net once in the Premier League.
While he was more prolific in the Champions League under Graham Potter, this ultimately counted for nothing on an individual level after he was dropped from the squad for the knockout stages after their luxurious January transfer window.
Since his move to France after leaving the club for free, he has rediscovered his goalscoring touch in a big way. He has scored 15 goals in all competitions, whilst also registering seven assists.
Last night though, he wrote his name into European folklore by equalling the goalscoring record set by fellow former Chelsea flop Radamel Falcao.

Chelsea supporters tuning in to European football last night will have seen more than just Aubameyang finding the net as far as players associated with their team are concerned.
They will have also been closely watching loanee Romelu Lukaku as he competed for Roma, having recently seen Jose Mourinho depart as manager.
The Belgian also found the net last night to keep his side in their respective tie, leaving some Blues fans contemplating the question of if it is worth giving him another chance at Stamford Bridge.
It does feel as if the bridges are more than burned as far as that relationship is concerned.
