Reports have claimed that one of Chelsea’s top targets for the manager’s job at Stamford Bridge is now wanted elsewhere.
According to The Times, the Blues could lose out on the man they want to Liverpool, after they seem to have given up their efforts on bringing in Xabi Alonso.
Alonso is one of the most sought after coaches in the game right now, with it looking like he is about to win the Bundesliga ahead of Bayern Munich.

While it was expected a number of sides would make a move for him, including Chelsea, it looks as if he is set to stay at his current club.
This has been a big blow mainly to Liverpool, who are now looking elsewhere, and have one man in mind at the head of their shortlist.
Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim has continued his strong work in charge there with another stellar season, and a number of sides have taken note.
Chelsea are certainly one of those, and he has even been cited that he is their dream target to take over.

The job at Stamford Bridge is not actually available right now, however the pressure is certainly high on current boss Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentine has not hit the ground running in multiple ways, however the connection he has with the fanbase is the real weakness.
This has seen some run out of patience completely, with supporters at games being heard to chant for former manager Jose Mourinho in protest.
Pochettino’s future looks likely to rely on the Blues qualifying for some sort of European football, which they can do through either the Premier League or the FA Cup.
