Joao Felix’s spell as a Chelsea player was certainly short and sweet, spending the second half of last season on loan at Stamford Bridge.
Now on loan at Barcelona, Atletico Madrid first loaned out Joao Felix to Chelsea for six months of the 2022/23 campaign.
Apparently, the 24-year-old Portuguese forward did strike up a good combination in training with one Blues youngster.
Chelsea talent Omari Hutchinson, 20, loved working alongside Felix at Cobham.
The Athletic has claimed that Chelsea prospect Hutchinson, who’s currently doing very well out on loan at Ipswich Town, took a lot of belief from training with Felix last year.
It is explained that the 20-year-old Blues youngster linked up superbly well with Felix during small-sided training drills, which isn’t the biggest surprise to us because both have exquisite technique and close control. They would leave their teammates ‘chasing shadows’ at times.
Apparently, Hutchinson would leave training buoyed and with belief he could be a first-team star at Stamford Bridge because of the on-field partnership with such a high-profile footballer.

The same report also claims that Chelsea are regularly speaking with Hutchinson and are delighted with his development so far in the Championship with Ipswich. It’s expected that the Blues-owned youngster will get a new contract at Stamford Bridge in the summer, too.

Hutchinson’s now up to eight goals and six assists in Ipswich colours this season, playing his role in an automatic promotion bid.
Speaking via the East Anglian Daily Times in September, Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna labelled Hutchinson as “excellent” for one performance. He’s come such a long way throughout the season, too!
