Mauricio Pochettino has hinted that one Chelsea player who starred in the week against Aston Villa will not be fit to play the club’s next game.
He claimed in his pre-match press conference that he is unsure as to whether Benoit Badiashile would be fit enough to take on Crystal Palace at the end of this weekend.
Badiashile was imperious at the back in the week as the Blues returned to winning ways against Villa.
In a game many were tipping them to lose, Pochettino’s side pulled out a brilliant display, with the manager’s job seriously under pressure.
With no Thiago Silva, some supporters were concerned about what was to come from an inexperienced defensive line that included Axel Disasi.
However, the former Monaco pairing silenced a lot of doubters, and came minutes away from keeping a clean sheet.
Badiashile injured
Despite their brilliance, it looks as if the duo will not be named in defence together again on Monday night for the London derby.

Pochettino has claimed that the Frenchman has had a scan on what looks to be a groin injury.
He said: “Badiashile we need to assess and wait for the scan. Levi Colwill, we need to wait for Sunday to see if he’s available. Chalobah is doing well, he’s training with the team.
“Groin. I hope it’s not a big issue. We need to assess now and after we will know better.”
It remains to be seen who the manager chooses to replace the left-footed defender, with a returning Levi Colwill surely the ideal option.
