Chelsea’s Cole Palmer cemented his status as an even bigger fan favourite after his latest heroics this week.

Cole Palmer, who’s still only 21, scored a hat-trick in the memorable 4-3 win for the Blues over Manchester United on Thursday night.

The young attacker can do no wrong when he steps on a football pitch right now.

He’s now up to 16 Premier League goals for the season, which places him in the race for the golden boot prize.

Danny Murphy prediction on Cole Palmer

TalkSPORT pundit Danny Murphy has waxed lyrical about Chelsea’s Palmer and his individual quality, naming him as the outright best player at Stamford Bridge.

It’s interesting that he’s also predicted the 21-year-old talent will stay in west London in the immediate future because he’s in a great environment as the talisman.

“You have walked into a huge club who are struggling as a young player, and all the other young players haven’t shone like him, and scored 16 goals and got eight assists,” Murphy told talkSPORT.

“I love him, he has got years ahead of him being a superstar. He is Chelsea’s best player, already. Easily. No one close.

“As long as they progress and become more competitive over the next year or two, you see him staying there because he has now become the main man. He is only going to get better by playing every week.”

Chelsea must do everything to keep Cole Palmer happy

The good news is that Palmer’s still under contract with the Blues until 2030.

On top of that, The Telegraph reported earlier this week that Palmer is expected to be rewarded for his stellar debut season at Chelsea with a new and improved deal.

Palmer’s sitting on 16 goals and eight assists in the Premier League this season, which means he’s directly responsible for 45% of Chelsea’s top-flight goals.

The left-footed playmaker needs to be both the present and the future of this football club!
