Trevoh Chalobah has singled out Chelsea teammate Nicolas Jackson for being such an integral player in the current side at Stamford Bridge.
Trevoh Chalobah, 24, has recently returned to the Chelsea team after missing the first half of the season through injury.
He’s come into a Blues side that has been very inconsistent under Mauricio Pochettino this year, but there’s still a few shining lights.
Nicolas Jackson, who cost Chelsea £32m from Villarreal last summer (The Guardian), has had some great moments amid his own inconsistent form.
In fairness, the 22-year-old striker scored again last night in a league win at home to Newcastle United. It takes him up to 12 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions this season.
Chalobah thinks Jackson’s brilliant for his Chelsea teammates with the way he can stretch the pitch with movement and he takes pressure off others.
When discussing Jackson, Chalobah said via London World: “He is a very good player, getting the goals this season. He brings that dimension of going in behind and taking players in behind which is very good to take the pressure off other players. If you have a striker who is willing to run in behind a lot it helps us. That is the side of the game that he brings and he’s adding goals which is good.”

Nicolas Jackson is real quality
It’s nice to hear Jackson receive praise from his peers because he does work very hard in games for Chelsea.
We agree that the energetic forward is a big weapon for the Blues with his movement and overall impact in the final third.
Once he finds his shooting boots on a regular basis, we’re predicting Premier League defences could be in trouble.
Speaking via Football.London yesterday, Chelsea head coach Pochettino insisted that Jackson’s game is definitely improving and he’s performing really well right now.
