Jeremy Allen White was ‘blindsided’ by his estranged wife, Addison Timlin, commenting about the difficulties of being a single mother in a Mother’s Day Instagram post earlier in May.
The Bear star, 32, shares two daughters Ezer Billie, four, and Dolores Wild, two, with the Californication actress, 31, whom he tied the knot with back in 2019. However, just days before Mother’s Day, TMZ reported that Timlin had filed for divorce.
A source close to the former couple recently told Page Six that the actor was ‘blindsided’ by her lengthy caption where she claimed being a single mother was ‘f***ing hard.’
Shortly after uploading the post, Timlin slightly altered the comment to change single mother to ‘co-parenting.’
‘Addison changed her Instagram post because it wasn’t accurate, a lot of people were like ‘What are you talking about?’ the insider informed the outlet.

Friends of the stars have claimed that there was no infidelity to prompt the separation, but hinted that his filming schedule in Chicago might have sparked up strains in the relationship.
The source continued, ‘Jeremy had no control about where he was filming. He filmed The Bear in Chicago and any time he could, he came home. He is so involved in those girls’ lives, he adores his daughters.’
Both White and Timlin first crossed paths when they were teenagers, and also starred in the same 2008 project titled, Afterschool.
They welcomed their first daughter in 2018, and their second two years later in 2020. In October 2019, the stars said ‘I do’ at a Beverly Hills courthouse.
Earlier in May, TMZ reported that Addison had filed for divorce from the Shameless actor after nearly three years of marriage, but did not cite a specific reason for the sudden separation.
At the time of filing, the actress asked for primary physical custody of their two little ones, allowing Jeremy visitation. However, earlier this month, he asked for joint custody of their daughters, per Page Six.
On Mother’s Day, Timlin jumped to her main Instagram page to show a carousel of snaps of herself with her children and added a lengthy caption where she detailed the ups and downs of single parenting.
She initially penned, ‘Being a single mom is not how I pictured it. It is so f***ing hard,’ but later changed the sentence to, ‘Co-parent is not how I pictured it. It is so f***ing hard.’

She also added how ‘exhausting’ and ‘lonely’ it could be, writing out that, ‘theres no witness by your side. It’s so painful.’
‘But just like everything with motherhood the lows are demolished by the staggering heights,’ Addison continued and detailed the positives of motherhood, typing, ‘being a mom is the only thing I’ve ever wanted and being theirs is just the luckiest most remarkable thing on the planet.’
She penned, ‘Doing it alone has given me more strength and more empathy and more tears than anything else in my life ever has,’ and sent gratitude to other moms and to those who have helped her ‘in these last 9 months.’
During a past interview with InStyle last year in August, Jeremy opened up about his family life with his Addison and daughters. ‘I learn a lot from them,’ he revealed at the time.
‘I feel like in a lot of ways, they’re teaching me all the time how to be better: how to be better to them; how to be better to my wife, my friends, my parents, my sister.’
The Golden Globe winner added, ‘I think I’ve been ready to domesticate for a long time, and I’m so happy to be in the house all the time with them.’

While the first season followed the premise of Jeremy’s character, Carmy Berzatto, taking over his late brother’s sandwich shop, the second season will follow Carmy’s new restaurant titled, The Bear.
Last year, the show garnered critical acclaim and recognition, and the New-York born star himself won a Golden Globe, a SAG award, and also a Critics Choice Television Award for his performance.
