Why Joel Edgerton’s bizarre appearance at the London premiere of Barbie without his glam girlfriend Christine Centenera has everyone talking
Joel Edgerton looked out of place at the London premiere of Barbie on Wednesday when he stepped out on the red carpet in an all-black ensemble.
The serious Aussie actor, 49, eschewed the Barbie-core theme for a dark look and he stuck out amid the other glamorous guests.
Dressed head-to-toe in black, he rocked a sleek black suit over a crisp white button-up shirt.
His teamed the outfit with shiny Louis Vuitton shoes and hid his face behind a pair of dark designer sunglasses.
The Secret Life of Us star also looked sombre at the bright event without his long-term girlfriend, glamorous Vogue Editor Christine Centenera, on his arm.

Christine, 40, recently replaced Edwina McCann as Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Australia.
The tastemaker, who also has her own label Wardrobe.NYC, has worked for the magazine since 2012.
She will continue to report to McCann, who has been promoted to Vogue Australia’s Editorial Director and Publisher, and her first issue was in March.

Meanwhile, Joel revealed he and Christine had welcomed their first children together in an interview with Oprah Daily in May 2021.
The filmmaker also confessed he’d been ‘very nervous’ he’d miss the babies’ births in Sydney, because he was working in Queensland at the time.
They’re the first children for the notoriously private couple, who started dating back in 2018.
