After local cattleman William Hale hatched a sophisticated plan to seize control of the Osage oil, the FBI became involved, and Agent Tom White led the investigation.
To solidify his claim to the land, Hale had urged his nephew Ernest Burkhart to wed Mollie Kile, a native Osage woman. It’s likely reasonable to assume that under Scorsese’s direction, this narrative of racism, murder, treachery, and money will be transformed into a gritty and dramatic picture.
