Speaking to MailOnline about how she stays on track with her eating she said: ‘Christmas for me is a time to be unapologetic when it comes to enjoying the food you love.

‘That’s why I’ve had so much success with WW – the programme isn’t about quick-fixes, fads or missing out on the things you love – it’s about making simple, healthier choices over the long term.

‘I’ve lost 1.5 stone using the WW app and I’ve never felt better and that’s down to how flexible it is with real everyday life – including when it’s time to celebrate. Nothing is off the menu!’

On how she makes sure she’s feeling her best all year-round she added: ‘I credit walking with my dog Angus and Rosie’s little sausage dog Ruby with helping to keep me fit and my mind clear, year-round.

‘There’s nothing I love more at this time of year than getting all wrapped up and pounding those pavements to get my endorphins up, I always feel glad I went out.

‘Sleep is also key for me too so it’s a priority for me to make sure I’m getting my eight hours in whatever might be going on in my schedule.’

She said: It’s about much more than just food, I use the WW app which makes everything so much easier for me, it become second nature and allows me not just to track what I’m eating, but also my sleep, exercise and water intake and it also has over 200 handy recipe ideas.

‘I love trying new foods, so it means I never struggle for inspiration. I find batch cooking meals built around WWs zero points food really helps, as it means you have a ready prepared meal, which is vital when you’re rushing around at that busy time of year. It’s great to have something like that to hand before you leave to go to a drinks ‘do.”

Back in June Lorraine praised her 1.5 stone weight loss for giving her ‘zest for life back’ and enriching her relationship with husband Steve Smith.

The broadcaster signed up to WW in a bid to drop some pounds after steadily putting on weight in lockdown and after Christmas, and has gone from 11st 10lbs to 10st 3lbs since January.

And the breakfast television legend claims her self-esteem has been given a boost while she’s lighter on her toes.

She told the Mirror: ‘It’s made life a lot easier. I know I wasn’t alone in putting on weight over the pandemic. I think a lot of us were comfort eating.

‘I’ve certainly got my zest for life back. It’s improved my confidence massively. I feel like I can take on anything right now.’

On the cause of her starting WW, she said: ‘It was a combination of things. I definitely overindulged over Christmas, as we all do. I was finding a size 14 was getting too tight.’

While stating there was nothing wrong with being a size 16, she added that she did not want to reach that dress size personally, saying her ‘fighting weight’ is a size 10.

Lorraine said she relished the opportunity to wear a smaller dress to the Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards 2022 earlier this year, and felt much more confident about presenting an award as she wasn’t as concerned with how she looked or felt.

And she said her weight loss has revitalized her relationship with her husband Steve.

She explained: ‘Steve says, ”I’ve got you back,” because my energy levels have improved. I’m up for doing stuff now whereas before, at the weekend, I would do some housework and then collapse in front of the telly.’

Lorraine added that Steve enjoys being part of the healthier cooking, adding recipes to his menu as he goes. And, while she admits the couple may have a party but aren’t planning on renewing their wedding vows for their 30th anniversary in September, she would fit into her wedding dress once again.
