Channel’s Nine’s hotly anticipated Shane Warne docuseries, titled Warnie, will recreate a steamy kiss between the late cricketer and supermodel Elizabeth Hurley.
British actress Shanti Kali, who plays the English beauty, and Australian actor Alex Williams, who depicts Warne, share a passionate embrace in stills from the upcoming show.
The intimate moment was originally caught by paparazzi as Hurley and Warne smooched outside the cricketing legend’s London hotel in 2010, unveiling their romance to the world.
Melbourne‘s Windsor Hotel stood in for London in the series, with Kali and Williams passionately kissing against a wall.
‘It took a number of takes for technical reasons so there was ample time for onlookers to notice the whole spectacle,’ Kali told The Herald Sun this week.

The English model and actress said that she watched ‘pretty much everything I could get my hands on’ to get Hurley’s mannerisms right.
‘She’s just such a grounded, hardworking, witty and gorgeous human being’ she said.
Kali worked for years as an international model who has appeared in Elle Magazine, UK Glamour, Tatler and in campaigns for Uniqlo, Ugg, Nivea.
In 2019 Kali studied at The Unseen Acting School, followed by The Hub Emerging Actors Programme in 2021.

Kali was born and raised in London and now resides in Sydney. Warnie will mark her first major acting role.
Shane and Elizabeth first got together in late 2010, before he popped the question to the Austin Powers actress in September 2011, but they sadly split in 2013.
Warne said of the romance in 2018: ‘Who knows what the future holds. There’s a difference between in love with someone and loving someone. I’ll always love Elizabeth but I don’t think we’ll ever get back together.’
Warne’s words came after he branded his romance with Elizabeth as being the ‘happiest time of his life’.

The cricketer reflected back on his romance with Elizabeth, saying: ‘When we were together we both had a great time. Unfortunately it didn’t work out.
‘It wasn’t something that she or I did wrong, it just fizzled out. We’re still great friends, we still stay in touch, we’re good for each other and our kids get along great.’
He told the Mirror: ‘I was more in love with Elizabeth than I’d realised I could be. I miss the love we had. My years with Elizabeth were the happiest of my life.’
The series, which is due to air later this year, will follow the life and times of Shane Warne – cricket legend and cultural icon.
