“As the woman walked away, she was allegedly struck from behind by the e-scooter, causing her to fall to the ground and lose consciousness,” Victoria Police said in a statement.
“The e-scooter rider allegedly did not stop and was chased by a passer-by.”
Hatch recalled the alleged incident after she was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“The next thing, whack in the middle of my back, sent me down to the ground, put my hand out to save me, scraped a big chunk of skin out of my hand,” she told 9News.
A 46-year-old Melbourne man has been charged with recklessly cause injury, reckless conduct endangering serious injury and aggravated assault of a female.
He was remanded and will appear before the Bail and Remand Court tonight.
