Cole Palmer has summed up Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals yesterday perfectly on Instagram.

Chelsea were beaten by a Bernardo Silva goal at Wembley, but it could have been a completely different game on another afternoon.

Mauricio Pochettino‘s men had plenty of opportunities to win the match, with Nicolas Jackson missing a handful of them.

In the end, they were simply not clinical enough and were made to pay. Palmer, however, had another good game.

In fact, Chelsea legend Frank Lampard claimed that the attacker was “exceptional” on the day.

Palmer shared how every Chelsea fan was probably feeling after yesterday’s loss.

The Blues came close to getting the result they wanted. They just needed to be a bit more clinical.

It has been the theme of their season, and Palmer summed things up perfectly when he uploaded an image of himself on his Instagram story with the expression “sighhh”.

Palmer looked to have picked up a bit of a knock against City. However, Pochettino thinks he was just tired and is hopeful that the 21-year-old will be available for the Arsenal game on Tuesday.

Who won the Man of the Match award yesterday?

Kevin De Bruyne was named Man of the Match in Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat against the Premier League champions.

However, had Palmer been on the winning side that day, it easily could have been him.

The England international put in another strong display, making two key passes and creating one big chance, according to Sofascore.

A similar performance against Arsenal and with a more clinical Jackson on the pitch, the Blues may be able to head back to Stamford Bridge with a positive result.

After some really poor finishing from the 22-year-old yesterday, though, Chelsea fans will not be feeling too confident heading into the London derby on Tuesday.
