Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has now given a rare interview talking about the situation the club find themselves in.

The American’s presence has felt far less overwhelming this season compared to his first campaign at the top of the tree.

This is perhaps down to the reported rule Mauricio Pochettino has set those above him about entering the changing room after games.

Boehly sometimes made a point out of doing this before, famously making a beeline for Raheem Sterling after a defeat at Stamford Bridge.

The feeling is very different right now though, with there being genuine belief that they are back on the right track under the Argentine at last.

Boehly stunned at Chelsea turnaround

The Blues currently sit in the European places at last, and Boehly has now told The Athletic that he has been left stunned at how quickly their fortunes seem to have changed.

He said: “We’ve seen the last two and a half games, at least in the second half at Aston Villa (2-2 draw) and Tottenham (2-0 win) and West Ham (5-0 win) where we played just beautiful football.

“It was so fluid, it was exactly the way we drew it up, when we came out of the back, built up and moved up the pitch, (it was) very organised and the number of shots we had on board. In those two and a half games, you could really start to see what we were working on coming together.

“Even the commentary has changed over the last two and a half games. I’ve never seen anything change so quickly.”

It has been reported though that Europa Conference League qualification, which Chelsea are currently on course for, will not be enough to guarantee Pochettino his job.

It said that the owners were demanding Europa League football as a minimum, meaning the job is not yet done for the man in charge.
