Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino is going to be under some “massive pressure” if his side loses to Leicester City this weekend.
That is according to BBC pundit Michael Brown.
Chelsea host Championship leaders Leicester on Sunday afternoon in the FA Cup quarter-finals, with the winners booking a date at Wembley Stadium for the semis.
Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino is a popular topic for discussion in the media because his side are underachieving this season. As it stands, they sit 11th in the Premier League table. They lost in the League Cup final against Liverpool, too.
Michael Brown has claimed he’s worried about Chelsea’s manager going into the quarter-final tie on Sunday.
“Mauricio Pochettino will be under massive pressure if Chelsea don’t beat Leicester this weekend in the FA Cup,” Brown told BBC Sport.
“He just can’t lose that game.
“Their league positioning means there are lots of question marks over this Chelsea team, in terms of what they’re known for and how they’re going to finish. They’ve got some unbelievable talent but they still haven’t found a way to be consistent, so questions will continue to get thrown at them.
“If they won a trophy it would obviously get him out of the predicament of the league position, but if this draw doesn’t go well then the pressure will increase.”

Mauricio Pochettino position
The Guardian claimed earlier this month that Chelsea plan to wait until the end of the summer before reviewing Pochettino’s position as the head coach. He’ll be halfway into his two-year contract at that stage.
We’d be worried about the potential backlash from Blues supporters if they lose to Leicester on Sunday, though.
When asked via The Evening Standard this month if he’d ever consider quitting at Stamford Bridge, Pochettino responded with a firm he’d “never” quit Chelsea.
A few consecutive victories to create a feel-good factor could go a long way. Hopefully, the Blues can build on Monday’s league win over Newcastle United by beating Leicester City in the FA Cup quarter-finals this Sunday.
