Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson has been firmly under the media spotlight during his first year in English football.
It’s been a decent debut season so far in Chelsea colours, scoring 12 goals in 31 games across all competitions.
However, there’s pressure on him while he leads the line for the Blues. Also, he’s started to get a bit of a reputation for missing some big chances in front of goal, but you’d be even more worried if your striker wasn’t getting into good positions around the box.
Apparently, Nicolas Jackson is now going the extra mile off the pitch to try improve his game as well.
The Sun reports that Jackson’s making ‘subtle changes’ to his routine as he tries to find ‘marginal gains’.
It is explained that the 22-year-old Blues attacker is now ensuring he gets at least eight hours sleep every night.
In addition, the youngster’s made tweaks to his diet with the help of Chelsea’s expert nutritionists, which means eating the right amount of vegetables, carbs and proteins to help his body.

We’re pleased to hear of any Chelsea player making changes to their diet and being the best professional they can be.
For Jackson, we’re very excited to see the type of player he will grow into over time.
In fairness, Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino continues to start him and put faith in the rising star.
Nicolas Jackson form
Jackson’s scored in his last three consecutive Chelsea appearances, so perhaps we’re already seeing the impact on the pitch of the work off it.
If he can smash the 15-goal barrier in his first year at Stamford Bridge, we’d mark that a huge success.
Speaking via Football.London earlier this week, Pochettino claimed Jackson’s performing really well and that he’s got real faith in the centre-forward moving ahead.
From what we’ve seen so far this season, we think you could make an argument that Jackson’s £32m signing (Daily Mail) has been a bargain deal. At the age of 22, there’s still so much potential as well.
