Chelsea have two Premier League games to play this week during a busy schedule, but they won’t be entering them with a fully fit squad.

The Blues host Manchester United tomorrow night at Stamford Bridge. Afterwards, they travel to Sheffield United on Sunday evening.

Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino has been juggling a severe injury list for pretty much the whole season so far, but he doesn’t get too much sympathy when you see the depth in the squad at Stamford Bridge,

Now, there’s claims one of the current injured stars will miss at least the next two matches.

Chelsea injury news

Levi Colwill, 21, has missed Chelsea’s last three games across all competitions with a toe injury.

Apparently, the English defender faces a further wait before his comeback.

The Evening Standard claims that Colwill is ‘unlikely’ to be available against Manchester United or Sheffield United this week.

It is explained that the central defender came out of a protective boot a few weeks ago and is back in light training, but the club don’t want to put a timeframe on his return.

Chelsea host Everton on 15 April after this week’s matches before an FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City on 20 April.

The report claims that Colwill is hoping he’s back from injury in time to make the matchday squad versus Man City at Wembley Stadium.

Levi Colwill a big miss

We actually think Colwill’s absence lately has had quite a significant impact on the defence.

The 21-year-old is quietly having quite a decent individual campaign.

Speaking via Sky Sports Premier League a month ago, Jamie Redknapp hailed Colwill as an “exceptional” passer.

On top of his passing range, Colwill’s tactically very switched on as a defender, which is why he’s covered at left-back at times this season.

Chelsea have only won one of the five league matches Colwill has missed this year.
