Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has been full of praise for one Chelsea player after their performance last night against Crystal Palace.
He told Football London that he has been really impressed by Malo Gusto, with him competing at the top level despite being so young.
Gusto’s fantastic cross helped bring the Blues back into the game last night, with him setting up Conor Gallagher for his first of two goals at Selhurst Park.
A tough first half for them saw very few impress, however the 20-year-old did impress pundit Gary Neville during this 45 minutes.
It continued into the second half, with him in for the player of the match award before Gallagher’s brace made him the only real candidate for it.
Pochettino was left really impressed by the impact the Frenchman has had on his side this season.
Pochettino impressed by Gusto
He said: “I think when we assess Malo Gusto, we brought Malo Gusto to try and compete with Reece James. He’s really, really young, but now with the injury of Reece James, he needs to play and play a lot and compete every single game.

“We can see also some good things and things he needs to improve because he is so young and in the first season in the Premier League.
“But yes, we are so happy, he was injured also during the season. We play a lot of games with Axel Disasi and Alfie [Gilchrist], using them, but yes, it’s his first season, he’s played a lot and we are happy.”
The injury to club captain Reece James will see him not fit enough to feature in the EFL Cup final at the end of the month.
While Gusto was forced off late in the game, it has emerged that it was believed to be due to fatigue rather than injury.
