Coronation Street: Sarah Platt tells husband Adam Barlow if he is the father of their baby

Coronation Street fans are convinced Sarah Platt is lying to her husband Adam Barlow that he is the father of their unborn child. 

Sarah (Tina O’Brien) discovered she was pregnant last month after sleeping with both Adam and her secret lover Damon Hay. 

On Tuesday’s episode, Adam had a panic attack while fighting a court case for child custody as he anxiously awaited the results of the DNA tests. 

Viewers saw Sarah receive a letter from doctors and tell Adam he is the father. 

When Adam asked to see the results of the DNA, Sarah lied and told him they had rang.

Jumping for joy, he later toasted the news and told her: ‘Makes sense when calling instead of writing a letter. It’s a kind thing to do isn’t it?’.

At the end of the show, Sarah ripped up the letter – but did she read the results?  

Taking to Twitter, viewers think Sarah knows Adam isn’t the father.

One viewer wrote: ‘So Adam, the lawyer, doesn’t want to see proof!’

Another added: ‘Sarah and lies are terribly good friends. Waited 2 weeks….and then they phoned. Come on. Is Adam so silly to believe that. Happen he is’ 

‘Sarah’s not fooling us’. Another said: ‘Ahh nah! Sarah lying about Adam being the dad’. 

Sarah had promised Adam she would terminate the pregnancy if Damon is the father, but after a scare she realised she would go ahead with the pregnancy regardless of the outcome. 

Speaking about the storyline, Tina told Digital Spy: ‘It’s so interesting. It’s probably more interesting if it’s Damon’s, but for Sarah’s happy ending, I’d like it to be Adam’s.

‘I actually quite like the idea that maybe they can’t be together, they should be together but now circumstance has damaged their relationship and it’s hard to get that back, as much as they might want to.

‘I like the throwback to Ken and Deirdre’s relationship, which makes it really interesting. It will depend if the trust is eroded too much and how mature they can be about it, or if they’ll go their separate ways but still maybe be there for each other because they can’t just switch those feelings off.’
