Helena Christensen has revealed that she used to buy and wear used mens underpants as a teenager.
The Danish supermodel, 54, was born in Copenhagen and explained that she did not have fashion magazines growing up – so resorted to finding different ways of expressing her creativity.
Having a strong interest in fashion from a young age, she says this led her to going into second hand stores to find inspiration.

Speaking to The Sun, Helena said: I didn’t have fashion magazines, but as a teenager one of my favourite stores was a secondhand one.
‘I would buy men’s underwear and ballgowns and pair them together. That was my look, it was funny.
‘I feel so much joy going into a little store and looking through all these pieces that belonged to somebody else, perhaps many, many decades ago.’
Helena also added that it was the ‘history’ of the second-hand pieces she bought is what fascinated them, considering the ‘story they bring’ within the fabric worn by the men and women.

It comes after Helena shared a picture of a ‘sexual enhancer’ which promised ‘bigger, stronger and no headache’ to her Instagram Stories.
This week, the 54-year-old supermodel held up the packaging for the product which was called The Rock and contained one capsule and featured a steamy snap on the front.
While Helena didn’t divulge whether the enhancer was hers, she poked fun at the marketing of the product and captioned the photo: ‘No headache [laughing]’.

After making the X-rated joke, Helena shared a sizzling snap to her page of herself wearing a pretty floral strapless dress.
The lingerie model showcased her incredible figure in the form-fitting dress, while posing up a storm in a mirror selfie.
Helena opted for minimal make-up in the photo and wore her brunette locks swept up into a messy bun.

Helena’s latest updates come after she braved freezing temperatures to go swimming outdoors on her birthday which lands on Christmas Day.
She looked like she wasn’t struggling at all as she put her shoulders under the freezing water while at home in Denmark.
The mother-of-one showed off her incredible figure in a black swimsuit with a pink belt detail which cinched in her waist.
Helena swept her brunette locks back into a bun and sported a glam makeup look with a bold red lip.
She climbed down a set of ladders and jumped into the freezing cold water before swimming around in the picturesque lake.
Giving her followers an update on how she spent her birthday and Christmas, she wrote: ‘Merry birthday to me another dip around the sun’

The Danish supermodel is the proud mother to her only child, 23-year-old son Mingus Reedus, whose father is Norman Reedus (1998-2003) of The Walking Dead fame.
Over the years, Christensen has also had longterm romances with the late singer, and frontman extraordinaire Michael Hutchence (1991-1995) of INXS and the singer-guitarist of American rock band Interpol (2008-2015).
Helena recently shared throwbacks of Hutchence after being slammed by his sister for keeping his brain injury a secret.
And sharing snaps from that time on Instagram on Tuesday, she wrote: ‘Hey Michael, was just on the phone with some friends of yours who all love you very much.

The post came after Michael’s sister slammed Helena for failing to reveal he suffered a brain injury on a visit to Denmark in August, 1992.
Tina Hutchence said her family only found out three years ago that the INXS frontman suffered a brain injury after he was punched by a Copenhagen cab driver.
Speaking to The Sun this week, Tina said she was angry the 90s supermodel waited so long to talk about the incident, after Michael famously died of suicide in a Sydney hotel room back in November 22, 1997.
‘I know Michael was so happy with Helena and there was a time when I could not imagine them not being together,’ she said.

‘But I did feel angry when I first found out about the assault, as I felt it was her duty to say something to his family.’
Tina said there were ‘awful stories’ about Michael following his death, including that he passed away from a sex act gone wrong. She said Helena could have privately reached-out to their family.
‘There were all these awful stories about Michael after he died, so for Helena not to tell us about the head injury was wrong. She was very close to our parents and could have easily reached out.’
Tina added: ‘I’m sure that if Michael didn’t have that accident in Denmark, he would still be with us today.’
