Huge Hollywood star astounds diners as he shows up at Norwich restaurant for banoffee and bolognese waffles
Staff at a waffle house were stunned when Hugh Jackman walked in for a ‘cheat meal’ – and then posted about it to his three million Instagram followers.
The X Men star, 54, scoffed not one but two plates and a milkshake at Norwich’s The Waffle House eaterie.
Hugh – who plays Wolverine in the Marvel-based film series – was later described as ‘a legend’ by staff.
Taking to Instagram, the Aussie actor wrote on Sunday: ‘Happy cheat meal to me! Nooo! I did not share. And I’m not sorry. #wafflehousenorwich.’
He then posted pictures of his enormous meal – with the first course a savoury waffle topped with pan-fried Norfolk field mushrooms and cheddar cheese sauce, followed by a banoffee waffle with banana, toffee and flaked chocolate.

Restaurant bosses posted on Facebook after the weekend visit, saying: ‘Huge thank you to @thehughjackman for being such a legend posing for a photo and mentioning us on his social media pages.
‘He also helped chop some vegetables in the kitchen with his claws #wolverine.’
Manager on the night, Emily Blakemore, admitted she didn’t initially recognise him, adding: ‘All the other staff were peeking around the corner, saying, “It’s Hugh Jackman, Hugh Jackman.”
‘It was very surreal – the energy and excitement on that shift was just crazy.
‘He must get that all the time when he goes out… and we were aware he was in with his family and we just wanted him to have as normal an experience as possible.’
Hugh is due to film Deadpool 3, set for release next year, when he will reprise his Wolverine role.
And that means some serious diet hacks and heavy lifting as he gets in shape for the flick.
He has said he will spend six months doing nothing but training and bulking up.

In March he told how he had a pretty serious diet regime – eating 8,000 calories a day spread over six meals.
And he also revealed that drinking protein shakes had led to his trousers ripping.
Hugh has links to Norfolk through his mother, who lives in the county.
He is also a fan of Norwich City Football Club.
Fans said they thought it was lovely that he had mentioned the restaurant in his post.
One wrote: ‘This is my partner’s restaurant. Thank you so much for taking time to visit and share. It has really made his day.’
Another shared: ‘What on earth are you doing in Norwich!?! No judgement if you made the journey just for the waffle.’

However for some, the choice of waffles went too far.
‘A cheat meal NEVER includes mushrooms,’ one added.
