Bella Ramsey has revealed that they are ‘not 100 per cent straight’ as they candidly discussed their sexuality in a new interview on Tuesday.

The Last of Us actor, 19, told how they were a ‘little bit wavy’ as they said they were ‘ever evolving’ as a person.

Speaking to Vogue for their July Pride issue, they said they were dipping their toes into dating while reflecting on coming out as non-binary last year as well as using chest binders.

Bella said: ‘You never fully know who you are, it’s ever evolving. But I certainly think that people have gathered that I’m not 100 per cent straight. I’m a little bit wavy, you know? That’s what I like to say.’

On dating they added: ‘I’m 19, so figuring that out’s gonna be a part of my life. Relationships are so complex anyway, and if you’re in the public eye, everyone having an opinion about them adds an extra layer of difficulty.’

On coming out as non binary last year they told how they were worried people would think they were just trying to be ‘trendy’ and that they ‘fought with the word for so long’.

‘But it’s a very succinct way to describe to people who I am. Now I’m able to vocalize it more; being called ‘they’ is the most truthful thing for me. That’s who I am the most’,  Bella explained.

Bella added that the  LGBTQ+ community ‘uplifts them’ which they find a ‘privilege’.

They also said they were grateful for costume supervisors on set to give her several different undergarments options in their room: a regular bra, a binder, a sports bra.

They explained: ‘She’d say, ‘You just pick whatever is most comfortable for you today,’ and in the end it was just a binder. There was never anyone pressuring me.’

It comes after earlier this year Bella revealed they were told they didn’t have the right ‘look’ to be an actress.

Even worse, this bit of ‘helpful’ advice was given to them when they were just a kid.

‘I was told in one of my first auditions ever… The director really liked me but I didn’t get the part because I didn’t have the Hollywood look,’ they said while making air quotes with her hands.

‘That’s something that I’ve always found very interesting,’ they added.

The actress, who is non-binary and goes by ‘they,’ is best known for her role as Lyanna, the steely child leader of House Mormont in Game of Thrones.

And it didn’t happen only when Bella was a kid, it also happened after The Last Of Us started airing.

In an interview with GQ, the actress revealed they were taunted by ‘everyone’ online for their ‘square head.’

‘You’re looking for a comment that’s more painful than the last one, I’d kid myself that I was doing it in jest,’ they said.

Bella, who plays Ellie in the HBO show, went on to admit: ‘I wish I could say that I was confident enough [already] that it hasn’t affected me in any way, but it has.’

The actress said that despite the trolling they are proud of the work on the post apocalyptic series.

‘I’m just glad I could do that for them and for the show and for Ellie. I want to do her justice.’

They’re a breakout star from the HBO hit, but it is far from the first major role for the gender fluid actor, whose star has been firmly on the rise since they were cast on Game of Thrones in 2016.

The British actress also appeared in His Dark Materials. They earned a Critics Choice Awards nomination in the Best Young Performer category for their role in Lena Dunham’s Catherine Called Birdy.

Bella started acting from the age of four after joining a local acting group with their sister.

They were initially in a local theatre group called The Idols and they then joined Nottingham’s Television Workshop and was cast in Game of Thrones.

However Bella admitted they never even thought of making acting a full time career.

‘I didn’t go into the Workshop wanting to have a career in acting. It wasn’t something I was chasing. I’m very grateful it happened like it did,’ they said.

‘I didn’t imagine this career was ever possible. I didn’t even consider it. It would have blown my little brain to smithereens.’

Bella attended King’s Interhigh’s online school, because they ‘didn’t enjoy mainstream secondary school and wasn’t happy’ and also because of their acting career, they admitted on the institution’s website in 2021.

‘I think it allows people to be who they truly are and it leaves room for people to do the non-academic things they love,’ Bella added.

Bella was just 14 when she first appeared in Game of Thrones’ sixth season as Lyanna Mormont, a no-nonsense teenager in charge of the House Mormont, who proves to be fearless warrior and a loyal ally of Jon Snow.
