Radio hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson have shared their opinions on the widespread, yet controversial topic of gender de-transitioning.

On Friday morning’s Kyle and Jackie O Show, the duo chatted with influencer Oli London, who in 2018 became famous for identifying as Korean.

At the time, the ‘transracial’ 33-year-old had spent more than $120,000 trying look Korean – just over a sixth of the $570,000 worth of ‘damaging mutilations’ he would put himself through in pursuit of ‘validation.’

London’s gender, sexuality and racial identity also fluctuated wildly from bisexual to transgender to transgendered Korean women during that time.

Despite his extensive surgery history, the influencer has since transitioned back to a British man and has cited mental health as a reason for his initial transition.

‘I went through a crazy stage, I did actually issue an apology last year. I said, “Look, I was struggling with mental health. And I’ve taken accountability,”‘ London told the radio hosts.

Elsewhere in the chat, Sandilands and Henderson asked several questions on the heavily-debated topic.

‘You’re not saying that – if someone is a male and identifies as female and transitions – you’re not saying that’s mental health. You’re saying that what you had with the multiple changes, that was a mental health driven thing? Not everyone is suffering from mental health [issues].’ Sandilands asked.

‘No, I would never use a blanket term to describe everyone like that,’ London replied.

‘But I would certainly say there is a mental health crisis right now.

‘There’s a lot of kids being confused and led astray. Kids that are developing gender dysphoria, because of schools and social media pushing ideas on them… Because they’re struggling maybe with depression or they’re being bullied.’

Sandilands continued: ‘And they’re looking for an answer and yes, they may take this as the answer to all their problems, which you did. And you realise very quickly, it is not the answer to all your particular problems.

‘Geez, it’s something I never thought about.’

Sandilands went on to agree with London and further address the topic of pushing gender-affirming surgery and gender identity onto young people.

‘I wanted to be a monkey when I was a baby. But now these poor kids, they think, “Oh, I’m gonna turn into a monkey. I’ll just go and get surgery,’ he said.

‘These kids fantasise about all different things. I used to dress up as a girl for a while. I wanted to be a policeman at one stage. You know, like, we fantasise as young children.

‘But if you if you feel lost, and you think, “Oh, maybe I’m a girl,” I think that’s a bit of a dangerous area. If you are a young boy or a young girl that feels your whole life, “I’m in the wrong body.” They are genuine, genuine things I believe.’

In 2022, London had a turning moment in his life where he wanted to de-transition from a Korean woman back to a British man.

He told MailOnline: ‘I suddenly realised, the more surgery I have the unhappier I am.

‘I used to spend hours in church praying for clarity and then I realised I’d made a mistake.

‘It was a case of mutilating myself further or stopping and trying to get back to the old me.’

Now a year into his detransition into being a man, Oli has become a surprising new voice in the cultural debate around gender identity and reassignment surgery and penned a new book about his journey through his own gender.

And he has a lot of things to say.

After announcing his detransition, Oli claims to have received support and criticism from all corners.

He explained: ‘A lot of people were very kind to me, the conservatives and Christians.

‘The trans activists were disgusting and vile to me, what they said was horrific.

‘I’ve been the target of hate campaigns, they’re trying to cancel my book and sending me death threats, saying I should be stoned to death.

‘It’s all because I’ve said children shouldn’t be transitioned and that woman should have safe spaces – how’s that controversial.’

When tracing the roots of his own gender dysmorphia, Oli says his experiences more or less mirror the cliched talking points of the condition.

He explained: ‘I was born a male and as a kid I would sometimes dress up in girl costumes with the handbag and the heels. The first cassette I ever bought was Cher and I played with Barbie not Action Man, but many kids do that these days.

‘When I became a teenager I was teased and bullied for my looks, I had bad acne and a big nose. None of the girls would want to date me, they said I was too much like a girl, I was called feminine.

‘These are some of the reasons I think I developed body dysmorphic and ultimately got depressed.’
