Liam Hemsworth touted as top contender for Gladiators reboot – but he’s not the only star producers are eyeing

A fresh version of the cult 90s reality show, Gladiators, is confirmed to be in the works, with production scheduled to kick off this September.

And it appears Liam Hemsworth is topping the producers’ wish list as the host for the upcoming reboot.

The 33-year-old actor’s passion for surfing and fitness certainly makes him an ideal candidate, reports New Idea.

Daily Mail Australia understands that producers are not stopping at Hemsworth and have approached multiple high-profile fitness celebrities for the esteemed roles in the show.

The upcoming series is set to put the mettle of several beloved reality TV stars to the test.

Gladiators will film through September and October.

According to a report by TV Tonight on Wednesday, the series will not air on Seven, as has been the case previously, with insiders suggesting it could air on Ten.

The show previously had a reboot in 2008 but was cancelled after failing to find a steady audience.

Would-be contestants need to be aged over 18, with the terms and conditions revealing Warner Bros. has a preference for those aged ‘between 18-80’.
