Right-wing firebrand Lauren Boebert burst on to the political scene in 2020 as a pro-gun, anti-abortion, Christian who demanded swift and severe punishments for criminals.
However, despite being incredibly popular in the MAGA-sphere, it hasn’t been plain sailing for Boebert since her election to congress in 2020.
This week, things took another unfortunate turn for Boebert after her son, Tyler, 18, was picked up by the police in Rifle, Colorado, on 22 various different charges including three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Around the time that the arrest was taking place, Boebert’s social media accounts were lambasting President Joe Biden’s ‘crime family’ as ‘the most corrupt family in American history.’
This marks just the latest drama involving the politician whose greatest hits including allegations that she punched her ex-husband, allegations of pointing a gun at an Obama-supporting employee and trying to prove that a WWE star was her birth father.

Boebert was previously charged with careless driving and operating an unsafe vehicle after rolling her truck into a ditch in Garfield County, Colorado in 2016. She was later arrested and booked into jail months later in 2017 (pictured) for failing to appear for her court hearing
Boebert has had several notable run-ins with law enforcement in the past
In 2010, Boebert appeared to have her first brush with the when her neighbor, Michele Soet, accused her of harassing her and her husband, reported the Denver Post in 2020.
Then 23, Boebert was accused of allowing her pit bulls to roam free and thus threatening the Soet’s dogs. The now-congresswoman texted Soet after receiving a small fine: ‘You have taken food out of my children’s mouths.’
In 2015, Boebert was taken into custody while attending a music festival in Colorado. Then 28. she instructed a group of teens who had themselves been arrested for underage drinking to flee from the police.
According to the report, Boebert attempted to ‘twist away’ from officers while screaming that her arrest was ‘unconstitutional’ and that she had friends at Fox News.
She was later arrested for failure to appear on that charge, missing two court dates. The charges were later dropped.
In 2017, Boebert actually spent time in jail over a failure to appear offense regarding a reckless driving charge from 2016. The Florida-native spent 100 minutes in a cell before being bonded out and later pleaded out the charges against her.
The sheriff in charge of the jail where she spent time as an inmate, later endorsed her for congress.
‘I can tell you, I’ve worked with law enforcement members and two sheriffs who have had an arrest record in their past, from their younger days. Maybe they made some bad decisions but turned out to be very fine people and great leaders,’ Garfield County Sheriff Lou Vallario told the Post in 2020.

Arguably the most infamous incident involving Boebert saw her removed from a theater in Denver after she became amorous with her date.
Boebert was filmed lashing out at theater staff after being booted from a Beetlejuice performance for singing along – with staff claiming she also vaped and took photos during the performance.
Surveillance footage shows Boebert, wearing a tight, low-cut gold dress and high heels, making a considerable fuss as she and a hunky mystery man are ordered out.
She can be seen snapping a selfie as she leaves the auditorium and angrily bares her teeth at staff as she is escorted through the lobby.
According to The Denver Post, the lawmaker at one point declared ‘Do you know who I am?’ Afterwards, Boebert and her smartly-dressed date were caught on camera walking off through the empty nighttime streets of the Mile High City.
Just weeks later, Boebert was accused of using campaign funds to watching a cycle race that her partner from that night, Aspen bar owner Quinn Gallagher was competing in.

Earlier this year, Boebert denied punching her ex-husband twice in the nose after he made ‘lewd advances’ towards her at a restaurant in her district in January 2024.
She did admit to putting her hand on Jayson Boebert’s face to ‘keep him back’ before he called 911. The pair married in 2005 but split in 2023 – and share four sons.
She was dining at Miner’s Claim in Silt when Jayson showed up to apologize about an earlier argument from when she had gone to pick up their children from his house.
He allegedly started ‘being disrespectful,’ and becoming ‘lewd’ – at which point he ‘made a motion’ towards his ex-wife ‘to grab her,’ according to her aide speaking to the Daily Beast.
The aide claimed the move was ‘aggressive, not romantic.’ Lauren then tried to keep him back and ‘put her hand in his face, put her hand on his nose.’
Lauren Boebert said in a statement: ‘This is a sad situation for all that keeps escalating and another reason I’m moving.
‘I didn’t punch Jayson in the face and no one was arrested. I will be consulting with my lawyer about the false claims he made against me and evaluate all of my legal options.’

Days before the restaurant incident, the Boebert were rocked by another domestic violence allegation, this time involving Jayson and their son.
‘Tyler described that Jayson shoved him by placing one hand in the area of his throat/neck and pushing back,’ Deputy Cid Ramirez, of the Garfield County Sheriff’s office wrote.
‘Tyler became upset at this point,’ Ramirez continued, adding that ‘a physical altercation began between Jayson and him’ quickly ensued.
As the father and son fight escalated, he added, the father of four allegedly ‘stuck his right hand thumb into Tyler’s mouth.’
The force of the maneuver, the Colorado cop claimed, made the teen fear that his father ‘was going to pull his tooth out.’
At some point during the struggle, Ramirez wrote, Tyler managed to get ahold of his cell phone and managed to call his mother, who last year became a grandmother after Tyler fathered a boy with his also-teenage girlfriend.
The firebrand allegedly responded by telling the boy to call the cops, who eventually arrived on the scene around 1am Tuesday.
Their arrival coincided with a simultaneous deployment of officers from The Silt Police Department, there for the alleged altercation at Miner’s Claim Restaurant from a few days before.

Last year, Boebert proudly defended her son Tyler when he impregnated his 17-year-old girlfriend despite the fact that the couple were not married.
She first evealed at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in 2023 that she would become a grandma by age 37.
Dave Rubin of the ‘Rubin Report’ asked the conservative firebrand if her oldest of four sons Tyler getting his girlfriend pregnant ‘challenged’ any of her beliefs.
‘Obviously, I’m a Christian, and there are standards that we like to uphold, but none of us do it perfectly,’ she said. ‘We can nitpick what the Bible says is right and wrong, but I think just having that heart posture of wanting to serve God, it’s so important.’
She added that she and her son would go over ‘redemption and how to move forward.’
Boebert told a crowd of CPAC conservatives at the time: ‘I’m going to tell you all for the first time in a public setting that not only am I a mom of four boys but come April, I will be a ‘gigi’ to a brand new grandson.’
She used the occasion to praise teen moms who don’t have abortions.
To Rubin she explained her son would be the third generation of teen parents in the family.
‘My mom—she was 18 when she had me. I was 18 when I had Tyler, and now he’s 18. One of his first comments was, ‘Mom, it’s hereditary.’ I said, ‘Nice try. Doesn’t work that way.’ But I’m really proud of him and my grandson’s mom for being responsible, because they could have taken a different route, and both of them chose life,’ she said.
Tyler’s girlfriend has since given birth. The pair remain unwed.

Boebert has long been at odds with the liberal group of elected representatives known as The Squad.
In 2021, CNN unearthed Boebert making a joke at a Staten Island, New York Conservative Party dinner, in September of that year.
‘One of my staffers, on his first day with me, got into an elevator in the Capitol. And in that elevator, we were joined by Ilhan Omar,’ Boebert told the audience.
‘Well, it was just us three in there and I looked over and I said, “Well, lookey there, it’s the Jihad Squad.”‘
Boebert smiled as the room broke into laughter and applause.
She continued: ‘I do have to say she doesn’t have a backpack, she wasn’t dropping it and running so we’re good.’
In the same clip, Boebert called Omar and Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who is also Muslim, ‘evil’ and black-hearted.’
‘We of course know that this isn’t the first incident,’ Omar said in a speech following the incident. ‘In May she said my colleagues and I are politicians with suicide belts strapped to their bodies.’
‘She asked if congresswoman Tlaib and I should register as foreign agents, invoking the hateful duel loyalty trope,’ Omar continued.
Tlaib and Rep. Andre Carson, who is also Muslim, stood by her side.

Boebert pointed a loaded gun and mockingly took aim at a restaurant employee who expressed support for Barack Obama, one of her former employees told DailyMail.com exclusively in 2022.
The unnerving incident took place in the kitchen of Shooters Grill, the restaurant that Boebert ran with her husband in Rifle, Colorado.
Boebert opened her gun-themed restaurant in 2013.
Signs all over the walls and windows of Shooters encourage patrons to bring guns into the restaurant, where servers all carry conspicuously holstered firearms.
The former employee, who spoke to DailyMail.com on condition of anonymity, recalled: ‘I was in the back at the grill and there were diners in the restaurant.
‘I heard her say, “Hey”, and call my name, and I turned around to see she had this .380 black pistol that she always carried pointing right at me and she just started laughing.

The House Oversight Committee hearing, focused on prescription drug prices, was targeting pharmacy benefit managers – middlemen who go between health insurance providers and prescription drug manufacturers.
‘I actually have a fun little story, my staff is probably going to talk to me about this later. But I left a prescription at a pharmacy once. I went to get birth control,’ Boebert, R-Colo., shared during the hearing.
‘I was there at the counter and went to pay for it. And the price was very, very high. I said, Wow, is this a three, six-month prescription? ‘No, ma’am. This is one month.’ And I said, it’s cheaper to have a kid and I left it there and now I have my third son, Kaydon Boebert.’

In June 2022, DailyMail.com revealed exclusively that Boebert ‘bailed’ from the driver’s seat of a Jeep ATV leaving her son and dog in the back seat and her former sister-in-law struggling to right the vehicle as it careened down a ravine and smashed into a rock face in Moab, Utah.
According to a family insider Boebert, 35, was off-roading just months before she was to win a Republican primary – when she lost control and ‘bailed,’ leaving her family members to their fate.
Boebert’s spokesman Ben Stout told DailyMail.com that rather than bailing, the soon-to-be-congresswoman was ‘ejected’ from the vehicle.
Tori Hooper, 28, who was married to Boebert’s younger brother, Benjamin Bentz at the time, sustained serious injuries to her face and chest that led to further health complications months later.
Yet DailyMail.com has learned that no 911 call was ever placed.
Instead, the source said, the political newbie ‘begged’ Hooper not to tell anyone about the accident which could have dominated the headlines leading up to the primary.
The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said: ‘It was pretty crazy. She [Boebert] got out of the driver’s seat and left Tori screaming and freaking out, and her son and dog in the back seat.
‘Tori couldn’t get out of her seatbelt, so she grabbed the steering wheel. She’s steering into a cliff. They hit a rock wall; it struck her whole face. It was bad.’
Boebert went on to win the primary for Colorado’s third congressional district, defeating sitting congressman Scott Tipton by nine percentage points in what political observers called a ‘shocking upset.’

You would think that they would be the best of friends but fellow MAGA conservative firebrand Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Boebert do not get along.
In January 2023 during the Speaker election, Greene and Boebert reportedly almost got into a screaming match in a women’s restroom near the House floor over Boebert’s opposition to Kevin McCarthy.
Their animosity toward each other then spilled into public view over the summer when they had a heated exchange on the House floor.
Greene accused Boebert for copying her over a resolution to impeach President Biden, reportedly calling Boebert a ‘little b***h’ to her face.
It was Politico that first reported in April 2022 that the 36-year-old Boebert ‘detests being tied to her Georgia colleague.’
That same year, it was reported the two had to be physically separated at a House Freedom Caucus event where they nearly came to blows.
More recently, Greene was critical of Boebert’s decision to move districts.
‘I saw that she came in fifth place in the straw poll over the weekend which she should be very concerned about,’ Greene said in an interview with The Hill. ‘I think that’s a serious primary and it seems like there are some good candidates in there.’
Greene said it will remain to be seen what happens with the polling in the Colorado district, but she is not looking to get involved in the race just yet.
‘I think she’s got to earn those people’s support,’ Greene said of Boebert.

In June, former WWE star Stan Lane took a second DNA test to prove he is not Boebert’s father.
Her mother Shawn Roberts Bentz has long insisted the retired wrester was her daughter’s biological dad following a short fling in the 1980s.
Lane, 69, took a court-ordered paternity test in 1990 which showed he was not Boebert’s father.
But doubts over the legitimacy were raised when the lab worker who took his blood sample was convicted of taking a bribe to switch vials in another case and Bentz asked for Lane to be investigated.
He eventually agreed to take a second test in May and the results proved he was not the father of Rep. Boebert, 36.
Lane, who worked as a powerboat racing announcer following his wrestling career, allowed Boebert to handle his DNA sample to get rid of any concerns.
The results came back on May 11 and proved he was not her biological father.
He issued a statement confirming the news via his close friend to wrestling news website PWInsider.com.
‘Once we both reviewed the results Lauren and I agreed that this matter is settled, and I accepted Lauren’s apology on behalf of herself and her mother,’ he said.
‘This situation and the numerous false claims made against me over the years has been stressful for me and my family.’
‘I feel my otherwise good reputation has been tarnished considerably. I and other close members of my inner circle have been dragged into this as well.’

She acknowledged the results and told the Daily Beast: ‘I can confirm that Stan Lane is not my biological father.
‘I personally have never publicly claimed he was my father—but certainly, that allegation is out there.

Republican congresswoman Lauren Boebert ranted about the ‘Biden crime family,’ just hours after her 18-year-old son was arrested for 22 crimes.
Tyler Boebert, a father of one, was taken into custody at around 2.30 pm on Wednesday in the town of Rifle, Colorado – his mom’s congressional district.
‘The Biden crime family will go down as the most corrupt family in American history,’ the Republican lawmaker wrote at 4.45pm CT on her Instagram on the day of her son’s arrest.
It’s unlikely that Boebert was aware that her eldest had been arrested for four counts of criminal possession of a financial device, three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor to three counts of theft of under $300.
The other charges range from four felony counts of criminal possession of ID, a felony count of conspiracy to commit a felony and more than 15 different misdemeanor and petty charges.
