One man who is now unlikely to be in the running for the Chelsea job if Mauricio Pochettino gets sacked is Simone Inzaghi.

It was recently reported that Chelsea are interested in the Inter Milan manager.

However, Simone Inzaghi has stated that he is happy at Inter and that he is confident that talks over a new contract will go well. His words on his future have been shared by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano on X.

Mauricio Pochettino will know that he is not out of the woods yet, though. Chelsea really need to improve if he is to keep hold of his job, with the Blues currently sitting in 11th in the Premier League table.

Pundit Chris Sutton, however, feels that his former club have no choice but to stick with Pochettino and cannot keep on sacking managers.

Simone Inzaghi planning to stay at Inter Milan despite Chelsea interest

Inzaghi does not look to be in a rush to leave Inter despite links to Chelsea.

On his future, the 47-year-old said: “I’m happy here at Inter. I feel good with the board and fans. About my contract, we’re going to meet after this season to discuss the extension but the relationship is really great. Talks will be good.”

Chelsea will find it hard to lure Simone Inzaghi to Stamford Bridge

Inzaghi looks extremely settled at Inter, hence why he could be about to sign a new contract there.

The Italian has done a really good job at the San Siro, taking the Nerazzurri to the Champions League final last year and winning two Coppa Italia trophies.

He has an exciting team as well, consisting of the likes of Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram and Nicolo Barella. It is not a shock that Inzaghi does not want to leave that.
