It remains to be seen if Thiago Silva is going to feature on the pitch for Chelsea again in his career.

The Brazil legend went off injured in his last appearance against Aston Villa, with Mauricio Pochettino hinting that he may have suffered a problem in the same area that kept him out for a prolonged period of time earlier this year.

He announced last week that he would be leaving the club at the end of the season after spending an illustrious four years at the club.

The Champions League winner in 2021 is going to leave behind a big void as far as leadership goes, with the club hoping Reece James and Ben Chilwell can step up in his absence from next season.

Silva did hint in his goodbye message that this would not be the end of his time at Stamford Bridge in his career, leaving many to read into that he would return after his playing days are over.

A career as a coach could perhaps be on the cards, with him showing off some of those credentials last night.

Silva coaching Djordje Petrovic vs Tottenham

According to Football London, the injured star was offering instructions to Djordje Petrovic, who had one of his quieter nights in goal during the 2-0 win over Tottenham.

The goalkeeper is playing for his place next season for sure, with it being reported that the Blues are keeping an eye on Jordan Pickford as a potential option.

Chelsea linked to a new goalkeeper

Despite not starting the entire first half of the season, the 24-year-old has proved his worth on a number of occasions, even in big defeats such as the one against Arsenal.

He was great in defeat in the League Cup final too, being described as ‘brilliant’ by former goalkeeper David Seaman.
