West Ham are in advanced talks with Manchester City over the permanent signing of winger Carlos Borges, talkSPORT understands.
David Moyes’ side are now preparing for life without Declan Rice after his £105million move to Arsenal was finally confirmed.
The Hammers were crowned Europa Conference League champions in June but are looking to rebuild their team having lost their star player and only managing a 14th-placed finish in the Premier League last season.
Aside from European success, West Ham’s could only muster a 14th place finish in the Premier League.
Borges is one player they are keen to bring to east London, with the 19-year-old being valued at £14million.
He enjoyed a stellar season for City’s under-21 side, scoring 29 goals and 18 assists in 33 appearances across all competitions.
Borges has 16 appearances to his name for Portugal’s U19 side too with two goals and three assists his name.
The player has two Premier League 2 titles and two English Youth League at U18 level to his name.
The left winger is yet to make an appearance for the City first-team but could be introduced to senior football at West Ham.
With just under a month until the new season begins, they are yet to make a senior signing this summer.
talkSPORT understands that Moyes is a fan of Manchester United defender Harry Maguire, but Erik ten Hag has told him he doesn’t want him to leave.
Reports earlier in the month said West Ham have been eyeing a move for another wonderkid, Universidad de Chile’s Dario Osorio.
