Reports from Germany have now claimed that one of the candidates for the potentially vacant Chelsea job in the near future has now been approached for a role elsehwhere.
According to Sky in Germany, Bayern Munich have approached Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso, after what has been a sensational season in Germany.
Alonso looks on course to break the streak of dominance laid out by their Bundesliga rivals, sitting pretty miles clear at the top of the table.
He has greatly impressed his peers in his brief spell in the game, with RB Leipzig manager Marco Rose describing him as ‘fantastic’.
It seems this has not gone down too well with the hierachy in Munich though, with them already making the decision that Thomas Tuchel will be moving on from his role at the end of the season.
The former Blue will no doubt be looking for a role back in the game soon, however his noted relationship with the board at Stamford Bridge will make it very difficult to ever see him return to where many Chelsea fans would call home.
One of those members of the board, Behdad Eghbali, had reportedly determined his ideal candidate for the role a few weeks ago. It was claimed that he was an admirer of Alonso.

It was noted that it would be a particularly difficult to pull that acquisition off, with the links he already has to other big clubs that will be looking for a new boss in the near future.
The Spaniard already has a lot of experience at Bayern as a player, and therefore will likely be more than attracted to taking over as the manager there, following the recent reported dialogue between the two parties.
He also of course featured in the Premier League for Liverpool, who are going to be looking to replace Jurgen Klopp after his decision to step down from his role as manager.
