It is hard to deny that Cole Palmer has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season so far.
The 21-year-old was the last permanent addition the Blues made to their squad, and has quickly proven to be their top performer by some distance.
This was proven further last night in the 6-0 demolition job of Everton at Stamford Bridge, with Palmer finding the net four times.
Cole Palmer scores four for Chelsea
A perfect hat-trick in the first half was actually the quickest in club history in the Premier League, and he even won the battle against his teammates to take a penalty in the second half.
As well as his dominant performance, there were a number of Chelsea players who stepped up to the plate last night.
The midfield was a particularly strong position last night, with Conor Gallagher dropping deeper from his natural position to feature alongside Moises Caicedo.
While the club-record addition was brilliant, the England international actually performed really well alongisde him, giving Mauricio Pochettino a real selection dilemma when it comes to their next game.

With the challenge of Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final to come, it remains to be seen which direction Pochettino looks to go in.
However, despite all the talk surrounding the potential departure of the 24-year-old at the end of the season, Gallagher remains a crucial part of the manager’s plans, and selling him would perhaps be a statement they do not see a future under the current boss.
